Tauranga Tomorrow - A vision for the future

In 2003 Tauranga City Council facilitated workshops and asked you, the community, “What is your vision for Tauranga now and in the future?”.

Community Outcomes 

From your feedback we identified eight community outcomes, which will make Tauranga a great place to live, work and play. The Tauranga Tomorrow Community Outcomes Document was adopted in and some public organisations were allocated responsibility for completing the actions that resulted from the Strategy. The outcomes are:

To have a city that is:

	easy and safe to move around
	built to fit our hills, harbour and coast

Tauranga will have:

	a clean, green, valued environment
	actively involved people
	vibrant, healthy and diverse communities
	a strong sustainable economy

while:

living well, wasting less

And finally Tauranga will be:

a great place to grow up

Each outcome has goals with actions and indicators (statistics that we use to measure our progress). We’ve been working on these actions for 4 years and we want to let you know how it’s were doing. In November 2007 we updated all of the actions, indicators and included some case studies.
